Drink and Click™ Toronto, Canada August is Dance

  • Harbourfront Centre 235 Queens Quay West Toronto, ON, M5J 2G8 Canada (map)

If you've been away for the summer, this is your next opportunity to follow through on your interest to participate in a Drink and Click™ Toronto Chapter event. The theme selected for August by D&C HQ is Dance.

Now, you may be thinking that we've missed all the good song and dance events for this summer, like Salsa on St. Clair, Caribana... oops the Caribbean Carnaval or the Beaches Jazz Festival, but you'd be wrong. There's always Live Music and lots of Dancing at the Harbourfront Centre every Thursday evening for their Dancing On The Pier events.

Thursday, August 24th brings Swing Toronto to the shores of Lake Ontario and the Lindy Hop goes electro! The dynamic, photographic possibilities are there, for the creative photographer to capture a new take on the joyful, playful, and improvisational Lindy Hop Partner-Dance. Dancers will be swinging to the sounds of vintage or modern swing and jazz mixed with house, hip-hop and EDM.

The event takes place west of the Harbourfront Centre - Main Building, at the Boulevard Tent ( ), located between Concert Stage (formerly WestJet Stage) and the Natrel Pond, and is a seasonal venue for events programmed during warmer weather, such as Dancing on the Pier.

However, to TRY and keep us together at the start, why don't we meet by the north/west corner of the Harbourfront Centre Main Building @ 6:45 pm. If you need my cell #, direct message me via Meetup and I'll pass it along. Finally, if you arrive late, follow your ears and don't be shy. If you see any "serious" photographers, ask if they're with Drink & Click?

I look forward to the Socializing aspect of the event as much as the photographic opportunities and don't want to have a cold one on my own. So, I hope to see some familiar faces and some fresh ones as well.
